MULTICHANNEL LISTENING - Jean-Marc Duchenne - Préludes à l’espace

Multichannel listening sessions are listening sessions where the audience lies down. They consist of the presentation of works recorded specially for rooms with an acoustic system, bringing together a multitude of composers from around the world (in conjunction with the inDREAM and SANE networks).

For this first multichannel listening evening, MIAM welcomes French composer Jean-Marc Duchenne with his Préludes à l’espace.

Jean-Marc Duchenne is a French sound composer who has been exploring sound spaces since the 1980s.He creates all his works in his personal studio, the "Acousmonef", now equipped with 78 channels, and uses a large collection of small speakers for installations and specific projects. He enjoys designing unique listening experiences for the public, often immersive and almost tactile, where sounds tell impossible stories. Since 2003, he has also been developing and sharing the "Acousmodules" series of multichannel plugins.

His work "Préludes à l’espace" ou "Petits aperçus de l’Acousmonde" offers a look back on thirty years of research and invites continued exploration of a still largely uncharted sound world.
