Did you know that Charlotte Brontë, the author of Jane Eyre, spent her honeymoon in Ireland the summer before she died tragically at a young age?
Irish writer Martina Devlin has taken Charlotte Brontë’s Irish connections as inspiration for her new novel, Charlotte.
Award-winning author, newspaper columnist and playwright Martina Devlin has written nine novels, two non-fiction books and a collection of short stories.
The Irish Festival Fribourg/Freiburg (IFF) is delighted to welcome Martina Devlin to discuss her work at Centre le Phénix on Saturday March 15th at 5pm. This IFF event is part of Ireland Week, a worldwide initiative celebrating Irish culture from March 14th to 21st, 2025.
The author talk will be followed by an apéro.
