Dimitri Coppe
Dimitri Coppe is a composer and musician who has been developing spatialized and immersive sound installations for over 20 years, combining pavilions, totems, and piezo garlands. His performances and in situ installations immerse the audience in a plastic sound space, encouraging collective listening and live creation. Through works such as "Living Sound", "Mountain of Disbelief", "Microvox", and "mxsx", as well as collaborations such as Olbers' Paradox, 6x + 1, and Das grosse Lautsprecher Orchester Festival, he explores acoustic complexity and questions traditional forms of listening.
During this evening, Dimitri Coppe will present four of his works, specially adapted and deployed through MIAM's immersive device.
"Enlighted Space" is a kaleidoscopic proposal combining live performance, acousmatic composition, and creation for the image, united by an intimate relationship between sound and its spatial staging. Deployed in and around the audience, sound becomes plastic and immersive material. This live performance has been specifically designed to explore MIAM's 30-channel system and enriched with occasional elements: totems, pavilions, piezo garlands, in order to intensify the sensory experience.
"Da mihi ex ista arbore quos seram surculos", inspired by Cicero's quote “Give me cuttings from this tree so that I may plant them (at home),” is an organic live performance that, through successive layers, brings forth a profusion of minerals, plants, and animals, like a fragment of time and life.
Nuit, an 8-channel composition, unfolds in five scenes traversing darkness and light. It successively constructs underground, aquatic, and aerial spaces, playing between transparency and opacity. The work explores an intimate and archaic experience of listening in the dark, at the crossroads of the unconscious, memory, and intertwined sensations.
Finally, "Mountain of Disbelief", a short film by Gregory Grosjean (18 minutes), offers a poetic and quasi-cosmic narrative in which sound infuses an animistic dimension, embodying two opposing presences at the heart of the images.
Pixelle Panthère
Pixelle Panthère is an analog visual experience created using outdated electronic equipment. The project revolves around images, video, installation, and performance. It invites viewers to encounter and traverse dreamlike images, small windows that hope to be gentle, sometimes melancholic cocoons, sometimes electric, pretty analog memories, indivisible spaces.
